Overnight Assault on Zaporizhzhia

On the night of June 23, Russian forces launched an attack on the city of Zaporizhzhia. According to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, the strike sparked multiple fires throughout the city. A private residence, a car repair shop, and a gas station were all damaged in the bombardment. Two people—a 73-year-old man and a 73-year-old woman—sustained injuries. Emergency crews have since extinguished the residential blazes.

Previous Attacks in the Region

This assault follows a series of earlier strikes on June 21, 20, and 19. On June 21, Russian forces used an unmanned aerial vehicle to target a gas station in Zaporizhzhia, leaving one person injured. Fedorov reported that on June 20, the city endured nine separate airstrikes. Then, on June 19, an attack wounded ten people, including a police officer. That incident damaged vehicles, infrastructure, and materials inside a logistics operator's facility.

Explosions are sounding in the regional center. The smoke residents see is the aftermath of the enemy attack.
