Deadly Night Raid on Marhanets
Russian forces launched an overnight assault on Marhanets, a city in the Nikopol district of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast in central Ukraine. A four-storey residential building took a direct hit, claiming the life of a three-month-old boy. The blast sparked a fire, which emergency crews brought under control while also delivering first aid to the wounded on site.
The Injured and the Rescue Effort
Altogether, eleven people were harmed in the attack, with seven of them taken to hospital in serious condition. Among the casualties were two young children: a five-year-old boy and a twelve-year-old girl. Rescue teams also helped transport the injured to medical centres. The strike is another painful reminder of the conflict's heavy toll on civilians in Ukraine and underscores the vital role of international support in protecting communities that remain under threat. The local situation stays highly tense, and every attack deepens the humanitarian strain on the region.
The ongoing conflict continues to claim innocent lives, as demonstrated by the recent tragic incident in Marhanets. This situation mirrors another heartbreaking event in the Dnipropetrovsk region, where a strike resulted in the loss of three lives, including an eight-year-old boy. Such attacks highlight the urgent need for international intervention to protect vulnerable communities in Ukraine.
