Three Killed in Central Sumy as Russian Guided Bomb Strikes Civilian Area

Russian drones and guided bombs are pummeling Sumy in a massive attack. Strikes have hit civilian infrastructure, causing extensive damage to residential areas. The shelling has left people dead and wounded, including children.

Officials confirm a direct hit on an apartment building in downtown Sumy. At least three people died when a Russian aerial bomb struck one of the city’s main streets. The blast zone encompassed a multi-story building, a shop, and the roadway. Among the injured is a 13-year-old child in critical condition. An elderly woman was also hospitalized with wounds. The number of casualties from this attack has risen to four, with three more receiving on-site medical care.

The previous evening, occupying forces targeted the Sumy community with guided bombs. Private homes and civilian infrastructure were damaged. According to Oleh Hryhorov, the regional capital is under a massive assault by Russian UAVs and guided bombs, with hits on civilian infrastructure, significant damage to housing, and wounded civilians, including children.

Regional Situation

Approximately 15 private houses have been damaged. One incident turned fatal: a 79-year-old woman suffered severe injuries and died at the scene. In June, hostile strikes in Sumy Oblast killed 32 people and wounded 325 others, while border and rear communities recorded over two thousand shelling attacks. On June 29, two people died and nine were injured in regional shelling.
