Inventory problems for the Russian pole vault champion
Four-time Russian high jump champion Polina Knoz expressed her views on possible inventory issues due to sanctions against her country. She shared her thoughts with journalists, noting that at the moment she has enough poles for jumping, but difficulties may arise in the future.
«As long as I have something to jump with, I have poles. There are quite a few in our sports school. Although they belong to different coaches, we usually negotiate among ourselves and exchange poles. So at the moment I don't feel like I'm lacking poles. But I do feel a certain anxiety that I may face difficulties with poles in the future. I hope we can solve this problem since we have a friendly team. And even if we run out of poles in Moscow, we can always ask another coach»
Recently, Polina won the tournament "Cup of the Strongest Athletes" and set a personal record by jumping a height of 4.83 meters.
The position of the Russian athlete
Russian high jumper Danila Lisenko shared his perspective on the participation of Russians in international athletics competitions. He expressed hope that they will be able to compete on the international stage again in the future despite sanctions. Lisenko noted the positive efforts of the federation in this direction.
«I don't delve deeply into the issues of our possible return. I don't know what relations our federation currently has with World Athletics. Nevertheless, I believe we will return to the international scene again. Although at the moment the situation with the president of World Athletics is not the best. I hope for that. And I have a feeling that we will show ourselves again at international competitions. I am 28 years old, and I plan to compete for at least five more years. I think something will change for the better for us. Our federation is making great efforts, which is noticeable»
