Drone Attack Sets Industrial Facility Ablaze in Manevychi
On October 18, Russian unmanned aerial vehicles targeted an industrial plant in the town of Manevychi, located in the Volyn region of Ukraine. The assault triggered a fire that engulfed both warehouse and production areas. Preliminary reports indicate there were no casualties resulting from the incident.
Roman Romanyuk, head of the Volyn Regional Military Administration, noted that wind conditions have been spreading smoke toward the nearby settlement. He urged residents to stay indoors, keep windows and doors tightly closed, and turn off ventilation systems to reduce smoke inhalation risks.
“This morning, we again faced a strike on an industrial site in Manevychi. There is a large-scale fire affecting warehouse and production buildings, generating heavy smoke,”
Roman Romanyuk
This recent attack adds to a series of Russian strikes against Ukrainian industrial targets during September and October 2026. Notably, on October 12, Russian forces bombed the Roshen manufacturing complex in Vinnytsia. Thanks to timely alerts and evacuation efforts, no fatalities occurred. Russian claims that drones were produced at Roshen facilities have been officially denied.
Additional Russian Attacks on Ukraine’s Industrial Infrastructure

These repeated incidents highlight ongoing risks to Ukraine’s industrial sector and national security. The pattern of assaults on economic infrastructure reveals a deliberate Russian strategy to undermine Ukraine’s economy and disrupt daily life.
The frequent targeting of manufacturing enterprises not only causes severe economic damage but also raises safety concerns for workers. Given the history of attacks, it is critical for Ukrainian businesses to establish robust emergency response plans and prioritize employee safety measures.
The ongoing attacks on industrial sites not only threaten public safety but also have significant economic repercussions. Recent reports indicate that Ukraine's economy suffers losses of approximately $45 million every hour due to shutdowns resulting from missile alerts. This situation highlights the urgent need for effective measures to protect critical infrastructure and minimize the impact of such strikes.
