Russian drones attacked Kharkiv region on January 1: residential buildings and eco-park were damaged

Вітаємо новий рік у тіні бойових дій: російські дрони завдали ударів по житловим районам та екологічному парку в Харківській області.

Attacks on Chuhuiv and Kharkiv

On January 1, 2023, the city of Chuhuiv was attacked by Russian drones, which led to damage to a non-residential building and windows in several residential houses. The attack occurred around 21:45 when the drones struck a neighborhood, causing damage to civilian objects.

On the same day, the occupiers attacked Kharkiv, resulting in damage to the eco-park. Oleksandr Feldman reported that most of the birds in the park died, including parrots and pheasants. The winter enclosure for predators and the winter shelter for birds were destroyed, indicating severe consequences for the flora and fauna of the area.

Military actions and their consequences

These events took place against the backdrop of continued military actions on the territory of Ukraine, including attacks on railway and port infrastructure. As a result of these actions, a locomotive depot and freight cars were damaged, raising concerns about the safety of transportation routes in the region.

Attacks on civilian objects such as the eco-park in Kharkiv and buildings in Chuhuiv highlight the escalation of violence in the region, as well as serious environmental consequences that may have a long-term impact on biodiversity. Damage to the transportation infrastructure also threatens logistics chains and the safety of goods movement, which may complicate the humanitarian situation in Ukraine.

These events point to the continuation of the conflict and its negative consequences for the civilian population and the environment.
