Russian Drone Strike Targets Kryvyi Rih, Damaging Dozens of Buildings and Schools

Удар російських дронів по Кривому Рогу призвів до руйнування численних споруд та навчальних закладів.

Massive Drone Assault on Kryvyi Rih

In the early hours of March 6, the Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih was subjected to a large-scale attack by Russian drones. The assault caused significant damage to residential buildings, educational institutions, and city infrastructure. Preliminary reports indicate that approximately 30 apartment buildings were hit, including a nine-story residential block that took a direct drone strike.

Four educational facilities and one business-related infrastructure site were also damaged, along with a private enterprise. Residents were evacuated from the affected apartments, and fires ignited by the attack were successfully extinguished by emergency services. This attack is part of Russia's ongoing campaign of targeting civilian infrastructure far from the front lines.

Aftermath of the Strike

At the time of reporting, there were no confirmed casualties. Local authorities are continuing to assess the full extent of the damage from the incident.

It was a difficult night. The enemy once again carried out a massive 'Shahed' drone attack on our city. There were strikes at several locations, with one of the drones crashing into a nine-story residential building. Thank God, everyone is alive—that is the main thing.

Oleksandr Vilkul, Mayor of Kryvyi Rih

This strike is part of Russia's prolonged aggression against Ukraine and underscores the continuing threat to civilian populations, particularly in major urban centers. Local authorities and emergency services are working to clear the damage and ensure the safety of residents. Such incidents highlight the critical need for sustained international support for Ukraine as it defends its sovereignty and territorial integrity against invasion.
