Children Wounded in Russian Drone Strikes on Odesa and Kherson Regions

Діти постраждали внаслідок російських ударів безпілотників у Одеській та Херсонській областях.

Overnight Attacks Hit Southern Ukraine

Russian forces launched drone strikes on the southern part of Odesa region late at night, targeting a residential building and an infrastructure facility. One unmanned aerial vehicle struck a private home, while another hit a critical infrastructure site. Nearby houses also sustained damage, including broken windows. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in that incident, according to Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.

Separately, on May 27, Russian troops used multiple rocket launchers (MLRS) to shell the Korabelny district of Kherson city. The attack struck a children's playground, injuring a 36-year-old woman and her two daughters, aged 6 and 3. All three victims suffered mine-blast injuries and multiple shrapnel wounds. They are currently receiving medical care.

Infrastructure and Civilian Toll

In the village of Lymanka, Odesa region, a direct hit by a Russian drone completely burned down a branch of Nova Poshta (post office No. 300). As a result, the company has rerouted its logistics and plans to set up a mobile post office nearby soon. This information was reported by Glavkom.

These events highlight Russia's continued aggression, using drones and artillery to strike civilian infrastructure in Ukraine. The attacks, which cause destruction and injure non-combatants, underscore the severe threat the war poses to ordinary people. The ongoing violence in Odesa and Kherson regions demonstrates persistent instability in southern Ukraine, demanding sustained international attention.

The ongoing violence in southern Ukraine is further exemplified by a recent tragedy in Kherson, where a man lost his life due to a Russian strike on a children's playground. This incident highlights the indiscriminate nature of the attacks on civilian areas, raising urgent concerns about safety for families in the region.
