Обстріли з боку російських військ завдали шкоди Запоріжжю та Вільнянську, постраждало 10 осіб, серед яких дитина.

Attacks in the Zaporizhzhia Region

On February 26, Russian forces launched drone strikes against Vilniansk in the Zaporizhzhia district. A 17-year-old boy and a man were severely wounded in the attack and hospitalized in critical condition. Preliminary reports indicate damage to private homes. Simultaneously, the region reported activity by enemy tactical aircraft and a threat of guided aerial bombs being deployed.

The number of casualties in Zaporizhzhia rose to 10 following a massive Russian bombardment. The injured in Zaporizhzhia include:

  • an eight-year-old child,
  • five women,
  • four men.

An overnight enemy attack on Zaporizhzhia damaged 19 apartment buildings, four private houses, and several non-residential structures.

Furthermore, due to the hostile shelling, heating has been cut off in more than 500 buildings across three city districts. Utility workers have begun restoration efforts, while specialists from district administrations are documenting the aftermath of the strikes. These attacks are part of a wider pattern of strikes on Ukrainian cities that have intensified in recent months.

Situation in the Region

The recent events in Zaporizhzhia Oblast point to an escalation of the conflict and the continuation of attacks on civilian infrastructure. A critical concern is not only the physical harm to victims but also the impact on residents left without heating during the winter season. The situation in the region remains tense, and further military actions could affect the safety of the local population and the overall state of affairs in the country. The Zaporizhzhia region has been a focal point of the conflict since its occupation in 2022.
