Air Strikes Target Sumy Region
On September 26, Russian forces launched an air strike using KAB precision-guided bombs on the central area of Sumy. This assault resulted in two deaths in the Kovpakivskyi district and injured at least three others, among them an 11-month-old baby. The attack struck residential high-rises, an administrative building, and an inactive café located within a park zone. Emergency responders and utility crews are currently working at the impact sites.
The previous day, Russian troops also carried out heavy bombardments across Sumy region, leading to one fatality and injuries to 13 people, including three children. On September 25, the enemy deployed two guided aerial bombs targeting separate locations in Sumy, damaging around 40 private homes and apartment buildings as well as an educational facility.
Official Response to the Incident
The Sumy Regional Military Administration reported:
"Residential buildings, repeatedly targeted by the enemy, along with other civilian infrastructure, were struck once again. Tragically, two people lost their lives in the Kovpakivskyi district. At least three others were wounded, including a child. All victims are receiving necessary medical care."
Medical services are providing treatment to all injured individuals. The situation remains tense, leaving residents concerned about their safety at home.
