Journalists were killed in Kramatorsk during a drone strike

As a result of a Russian drone strike by 'Lancet' on a civilian vehicle in Kramatorsk, journalist of Freedom TV channel Alena Hramova (Hubanova) and operator Yevhen Karmazin were killed. This was reported by the head of the regional military administration Vadym Filashkin on Telegram.

From the first days they covered the situation in the region, telling the truth about the enemy's crimes, the evacuation of the civilian population, the stories of our defenders. It's hard to believe that this could happen to them. This is a heavy loss for the region and all of us. Bright, dedicated, just, and honest. Olena and Yevhen will forever remain in our memory just like that... Sincere condolences to family, friends, and colleagues. Russia is a terrorist state and must pay for all its crimes!

The strike on the journalists' car was carried out by the Russian military on Thursday, October 23, as reported by the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office on Facebook. Two media professionals died in the modernized vehicle.

Reaction of the President of Ukraine

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reacted to the attack by the Russian Federation that led to the deaths of journalists. 'This is not an accident or a mistake, but a deliberate strategy of Russia aimed at silencing independent voices telling about war crimes,' the president emphasized.

Since the beginning of the invasion, the Russian army in Ukraine, Zelensky noted, has killed 135 media representatives. The president called on everyone in the world to support Ukraine's defense and put pressure on Russia to end the conflict.

During the drone strike in Kramatorsk, a journalist and an operator of the Freedom TV channel, who actively covered the situation in the region, were killed. The President of Ukraine called for stopping the enemy's push and supporting the defense of the country.
