Donetsk Region: Russian FPV Drone Targets 'Phoenix' Group During Evacuation Mission

In Ukraine's Donetsk region, a Russian FPV drone struck a vehicle belonging to the State Emergency Service's 'Phoenix' evacuation team while they were carrying out a rescue operation. The attack caused damage to the group's car but resulted in no casualties.

This marks the second assault on the 'Phoenix' evacuation unit by Russian forces within a five-day period. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported from either incident.

Growing Threats to First Responders

These repeated attacks on evacuation crews like 'Phoenix' highlight the severe dangers that rescue personnel face while operating in active combat zones. Even though no one was hurt this time, such strikes can seriously disrupt efforts to evacuate civilians and increase the risks for humanitarian workers. Ensuring the safety of those conducting life-saving missions during the conflict remains a critical challenge.

These recent incidents underscore the alarming trend of attacks on humanitarian efforts in conflict zones. In a related event, a rescue team was also targeted by Russian forces in a separate strike that affected ambulance crews in the Mykolaiv area. This pattern of aggression raises serious concerns about the safety of those dedicated to saving lives amidst ongoing hostilities.
