Russian Drone Incident in Moldova
On January 22, a Russian drone carrying a warhead was discovered in Moldova near the Ukrainian border, prompting the evacuation of local residents and launching an investigation. The incident occurred in the village of Crocmaz (Krokmaз) within the Ștefan Vodă district. Measuring approximately 2.5 meters in length, the drone was found in the garden of an unoccupied house.
Police received a report about the discovery around 10:00 AM. Explosive ordnance disposal specialists were dispatched to the scene and conducted a controlled detonation of the drone to neutralize the potential threat. Residents were evacuated from the area as authorities continue to assess the danger level.
"All necessary measures are being taken to establish the full circumstances and to neutralize the warhead of the aircraft," stated representatives of the local police.

Moldova's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has characterized the incident as a serious violation of the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity. In a statement, the Ministry stressed that such events are unacceptable. This discovery follows another incident on January 17, when a Russian 'Gerbera'-type drone was found on the shore of a lake in the Telenești district. The situation remains under the control of law enforcement as the investigation into all circumstances continues.
