The Security Service of Ukraine reported that one of the Russian occupiers, who is guilty of killing civilians near Kupiansk, has been sentenced to life imprisonment. The head of the SBU explained that this militant shot two residents of the Kharkiv region who found themselves on the front line. He was captured during the fighting in the Kupiansk direction in October 2024.

According to the SBU, this criminal is 21-year-old recidivist Artem Kulikov, who served in the Russian 23rd Motor Rifle Brigade of the 6th Army. Previously, he had been in prison for robbery and theft. During the attempted capture of a village in the Kupiansk district, he held two civilians who were helping a fellow villager to evacuate.

Outcome

The Ukrainian Security Service noted that the Russian militant who killed two civilians and already had a criminal record for other crimes was sentenced to life imprisonment. This indicates that there is no place in Ukraine for brutality and violations of the law by occupiers and criminals.
