The management of the Russian men's volleyball club 'Belogorye' has decided to prematurely end its training camp in Belgorod due to the shelling of the city. This was reported by 'Glavkom'.
'Preparation for the 2025/2026 season will continue in Tula. All planned public events have been canceled. Please follow the current information and take care of yourselves,' the club's message states.
Due to security measures, 'Belogorye' held home matches of the Russian Super League 2024/2025 in Tula. Last year, the club from Belgorod claimed bronze medals in the championship.
It is worth noting that the junior national team of Russia in rowing will not be able to participate in the world championship, which will be held in Lithuania.
Lithuania has refused to issue entry visas to Russians, said Alexey Svirin, president of the Rowing Sports Federation of Russia.
'The situation regarding some countries remains complicated, and due to the inability to obtain visas, the Russian national team under 19 will not participate in the world championship,' Svirin said.
Previously, rowers from the aggressor country missed the youth world championship in Poland, as they did not sign the declarations proposed by the hosts of the competition. The world championship for athletes under 23 took place in Poznan from July 23 to 27.
Interestingly, the notorious Russian fencer Yana Egoryan won a gold medal at the world fencing championship. In the final, the Russian defeated Polish fencer Zuzanna Cieslar with a score of 15:11.
Yana Egoryan is an ambassador for the sanctioned all-Russian public movement promoting patriotic and sports education of citizens 'Healthy Homeland,' which conducts its activities, including in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. This movement is also involved in the abduction of Ukrainian children.
Egoryan is a lieutenant in the armed forces of the Russian Federation.
