Gulnara Nazarova's Ban
The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) has handed Russian tennis player Gulnara Nazarova a four-year suspension for attempting to arrange a fixed match in 2019. This disciplinary action was taken in response to Nazarova's efforts to orchestrate a dishonest contest, which directly violates the sport's ethical standards. The ITIA is the primary body responsible for policing corruption in professional tennis worldwide.
The ban, which took effect on 10 January 2026, will run until 9 January 2030. Nazarova was also fined $10,000. At the time of her violation in August 2019, she was ranked 823rd in the WTA singles rankings. It is notable that the athlete has not competed in any professional tournaments since 2020.

During her suspension, Gulnara Nazarova is prohibited from participating in, coaching at, or attending any tennis events sanctioned by the International Tennis Federation (ITF), the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), or any national association.
