Drone Attacks in Moscow and the Moscow Region: What Happened


On the night of July 20, there was again a drone attack recorded in Moscow and the Moscow region, which temporarily halted flights in the capital's airports. Explosions were heard in different areas. This was reported by

"Glavkom"
through local Telegram channels.


Due to the drone attack, takeoffs and landings were temporarily limited at "Vnukovo" and "Domodedovo". Residents of the Troitsk area in the Moscow region reported hearing loud explosions.


Expert Commentary


"Something is happening in the sky over Moscow," noted the head of the Ukrainian Center for Countering Disinformation Andrei Kovalenko.

Local residents of Istra and Zelenograd also reported explosions in the sky. They claimed that the air defense was operational, and about 10 explosions were heard.



Attacks on Transport Infrastructure


Against the backdrop of the attack, dozens of trains have been halted in the Rostov region. According to

"Federal Passenger Company"
, on the stretch between Likhaya and Zamchalovo, the contact network was damaged after drone debris fell, causing 75 trains to be delayed. Among them, 10 trains are headed to the annexed Crimea, and 11 in the opposite direction. Delays range from one to 12 hours.


Witnesses reported that a key substation was damaged in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky as a result of the attack. "It hit the substation near us in Likhaya. It was very loud at night," said a reader from the ASTRA publication.


Explosions were also heard in Tula.



During the nighttime drone attacks in Moscow and the Moscow region, there were recorded restrictions on the operation of the capital's airports, as well as the halting of dozens of trains in the Rostov region due to damage to the contact network. The attacks also triggered explosions in various areas, raising concerns among local residents.
