Two-time Olympic champion and State Duma Deputy Vyacheslav Fetisov reacted to the statement of the Minister of Sports of Russia Mikhail Degtyarev regarding the possibility of holding the Olympics in Russia. This was reported by 'Glavkom'.
Earlier, Degtyarev expressed a desire to hold the Summer or Winter Olympics in Russia.
"What grounds are there for this? We cannot return the flag with the coat of arms, our athletes are morally and in all other respects being brought down below the threshold, and we are going to hold the Olympics. Degtyarev probably knows better. This makes me smile," Fetisov commented.
It is also worth mentioning that Fetisov loudly reacted to the decision of the organizers of the Vilnius marathon regarding the participation of Russian athletes.
The Vilnius marathon announced that the results of Russian and Belarusian athletes will not be recognized in the event of their victories in the competitions.
"The bacchanalia continues. The decision of the Vilnius marathon is already a complete mockery of our athletes. Participating in such competitions and under such conditions is a lack of respect for oneself," Fetisov stated.
It is important to note that the Vilnius marathon is scheduled for September 14.
Lisienko's view on Russian participation in competitions
Russian high jumper Danila Lisienko reported that Russians will not be able to participate in international athletics competitions until Sebastian Coe leads the World Athletics.
"I have not delved into the details of our possible return. I do not know what the current situation is with our federation in World Athletics. But I assert confidently that under the current president, we will not be admitted. There is such a president there, not good...", Lisienko noted.
It should also be noted that information is circulating in Russian media and social networks that defenders of Ukraine deprived the titled Russian athlete Sergei Pavlik of his titles.
Sergei Pavlik, born on April 5, 1987, is a 10-time champion of Russia in Kurash wrestling, a two-time world champion, and a two-time champion in belt wrestling at the Summer Universiade in 2013.
The article examines the reactions of Vyacheslav Fetisov and Danila Lisienko to various situations in the sports world related to the participation of Russian athletes in international competitions. Their comments reflect animosity and concern regarding the relationship between Russian athletes and international sports organizations.
