Humanitarian Operation in Oleshky
Mine clearance along key routes in the temporarily occupied city of Oleshky, Kherson region, has been successfully completed, marking a significant milestone in preparing for a humanitarian effort. The aid convoy is now fully assembled and ready to head to the city's central hospital, where distribution of assistance to local residents will begin.
Evacuation for anyone wishing to leave the city will continue until 2:00 PM. Starting at 2:30 PM, humanitarian aid distribution will commence. Representatives from Ukraine, the United States, and Russia have gathered to coordinate the mission, alongside journalists from all three countries. This operation is conducted in partnership with Yana Lantratova, the Russian Federation's Human Rights Commissioner.
"This humanitarian initiative is a joint effort with Yana Lantratova, coordinated through the mediation of U.S. First Lady Melania Trump. Our shared objective is to deliver essential aid to civilians and facilitate the safe evacuation of those choosing to leave the city," explained Dmytro Lubinets.
Schedule of the Humanitarian Mission
The delegations from Ukraine, the U.S., and Russia have arrived at the staging area for the humanitarian convoy set to deliver aid to Oleshky on October 30. Media representatives from all three countries are present to cover the event. The schedule for residents is as follows:
- Evacuation available until 2:00 PM for those wishing to depart;
- Humanitarian aid distribution begins at 2:30 PM.
The mission is entering its final stages of preparation, offering hope for improved conditions for the local population.
This humanitarian effort represents a critical step in supporting civilians enduring hardships amid ongoing conflict. The collaboration between the three nations highlights the international community’s concern for the region and its commitment to addressing the humanitarian challenges caused by military actions. Successful evacuation and aid distribution are expected to provide vital resources and relief to Oleshky residents during this difficult time.
As the humanitarian convoy prepares to deliver essential supplies to Oleshky, the situation surrounding the city continues to evolve. Recently, the European Parliament's Vice-President ended her hunger strike following a crucial agreement on humanitarian assistance for the region. This development underscores the international community's commitment to addressing the dire needs of civilians affected by the ongoing conflict.
