Growing Troubles in Russia and the Threat from Belarus

Ukrainian intelligence has identified worsening fuel shortages, logistical breakdowns, and management failures in occupied Crimea as well as other parts of Russia. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy shared internal Russian documents on social media that acknowledge these issues, which stem from sanctions and strikes on Russia's oil refining sector.

According to materials obtained by Ukrainian intelligence, the Russian occupation administration admits to severe difficulties affecting the population. Anxiety levels among Russians have surpassed those seen during the Kursk operation, now exceeding 50%. Meanwhile, 66% of Russians describe their financial situation as difficult, and over 80% believe a major economic crisis in Russia is unavoidable. Zelenskyy commented:

“These are completely transparent indicators that reflect the failure of Putin’s military policy.”

Belarus Preparing for Aggression

Separately, the president reported that Belarus is readying for a potential expansion of aggression against Ukraine. He stated that Belarus is completing the construction of roads, ammunition depots, and fuel storage facilities along the Ukrainian border. Specifically, the following cross-border routes are involved:

  • Kobryn - Kovel
  • Ivanove - Manevychi
  • Luninets - Sarny
  • Rechytsa - Korosten
  • Homel - Chernihiv

The president emphasized that

“the development of border infrastructure for aggression by Belarus must be stopped,”
as it “has no purpose other than military.”

This information highlights the gravity of the situation in the region, where Russia's economic struggles could affect internal stability and military readiness. The increasing tension along Ukraine's border with Belarus demands close monitoring by Ukrainian security forces, as preparations for possible aggression could introduce new threats to Ukraine's safety. The international community must take active steps to prevent further escalation of the conflict.

As tensions escalate, the situation at the Belarusian border becomes increasingly critical. The ongoing preparations for aggression by Belarus could significantly impact regional stability and necessitate a reassessment of Ukrainian defense strategies.
