At a meeting of First Deputy Minister Liudmyla Shemelynets and Deputy Minister Ilona Havronska with representatives of the European Commission, the development of modern social services at the community level was discussed. Special attention was paid to supporting veterans, children returned from deportation, and internally displaced persons.
The issue of social rebuilding in Ukraine and preparations for the end of temporary protection in EU countries in 2027 was also discussed. The main emphasis was on strengthening the capacity of communities to receive and support returning citizens.
'This is an important step for us as a country as a whole. We need to prepare our social protection system for these changes, as well as ensure support for all categories of the population that need it,' emphasized meeting participants.
The participants of the meeting highlighted the importance of developing social services to support various groups of the population in Ukraine, preparing for the end of temporary protection in the European Union, and assisting returning communities.
