Ryanair Unveils Major 2026 Summer Expansion for Croatia with 118 Routes

Ryanair оголосила про значне розширення мережі рейсів на літо 2026 року в Хорватії, з новими можливостями для мандрівників.

Ryanair's 2026 Summer Schedule for Croatia

Ryanair has announced its summer flight schedule for Croatia in 2026, which will be supported by a fleet of nine aircraft based in the country. The low-cost carrier is investing $900 million (nearly one billion dollars) to develop its regional network there. The expansion will see 118 routes served across seven Croatian airports, with the airline maintaining its operational bases in Dubrovnik, Zadar, and Zagreb.

This new schedule is projected to provide 4.3 million seats, representing a 5% increase in passenger capacity. Ryanair also plans to operate over 850 weekly flights, which is expected to support 3,500 jobs within the country's aviation and tourism sectors. Among the new routes being introduced are flights from Dubrovnik to Budapest and Gdańsk. This significant growth highlights Croatia's rising popularity as a European travel destination compared to some of its neighbors.

Impact of Investment on the Tourism Sector

Jason McGuinness commented that Croatia's success, while markets in Austria, France, and Germany have stagnated, is largely due to the competitive level of its airport charges. This has allowed the airline to shift capacity away from higher-cost markets to Croatian cities. Tickets for both new and existing routes are already available on Ryanair's official app, starting from €29.99.

Ryanair's expanded operations in Croatia signal positive momentum for the country's tourism industry, even as other European markets face challenges. The airline's investment is likely to boost Croatia's competitiveness as a tourist destination, attracting more visitors and supporting the regional economy. This strategic move underscores how airlines are adapting to shifting demand and market conditions, which may influence the future development of tourism infrastructure in the country.
