Scammers Demand Card Data Through Fake 7400 Hryvnia Payment from the UN

Шахраї вимагають інформацію про картки, створюючи фальшиві платіжні запити на суму 7400 гривень від ООН.

Fraud with Fake Payments in Ukraine

Scammers in Ukraine are spreading fake messages claiming that starting from December 1, 2023, it is supposedly possible to receive a payment of 7400 hryvnias from the UN. This is a scam, as the United Nations does not make payments to all citizens of Ukraine. UN assistance is only available to certain categories of people and can only be obtained through official websites.

It is important to note that the links used by scammers lead to Linktree, not to the official resources of UNHCR, WFP, UNICEF, or IOM. The aim of this scheme is to collect card data, personal documents, and access to bank accounts.

The promise 'to any card, even eSupport' is a typical bait for scammers.

If you have already clicked on the link and entered your information, it is recommended to take urgent measures to protect your financial information. Be careful and verify information before providing your data.

The Importance of Caution

This situation highlights the importance of caution in the face of growing scam activity, especially during periods of economic instability. Citizens should be vigilant and verify information through official channels to avoid financial losses. Informing the public about fraudulent schemes can help prevent similar cases in the future.
