Galaxy A08 and A07s: Samsung's Next Budget Smartphone Pair
Two new entry-level Android phones from Samsung have been spotted in certification lists, including Google Play Console, Wi-Fi Alliance, India's BIS, and FCC. The Galaxy A08 and Galaxy A07s appeared in these registries on August 19, suggesting their official market launch is not far off.
What the Certifications Reveal
The Galaxy A08, carrying model number SM-A085F, is listed with a MediaTek Helio G99 processor, Mali-G57 graphics, and 8GB of RAM. Its display offers a 720x1600 resolution with a waterdrop-style notch for the front camera, while the rear panel is expected to house a dual-camera setup. The device is said to run Android 17 out of the box and is backed by approximately a 5830 mAh battery supporting Samsung's proprietary 25W wired charging.
As for the Galaxy A07s (model SM-A077M), it uses the same Helio G99 chipset and Mali-G57 GPU but cuts RAM down to 4GB. This model is slated to ship with Android 16. Notably, Samsung's previous budget entry, the A07 4G, also relied on the Helio G99 processor.
According to reports, the Galaxy A08 is expected to be announced around August 2026, nearly a year after the A07 4G hit shelves. FCC documentation confirms the roughly 5830 mAh battery and 25W charging for the A08, while Wi-Fi Alliance and Indian BIS databases list it under the number SM-A085F/DS. The A07s, on the other hand, has not yet appeared in as many registries.
Samsung's continued focus on the affordable segment, including these upcoming Galaxy A08 and A07s models, underlines its commitment to competing in a market where budget-focused rivals are gaining ground. Budget devices are a critical layer of Samsung's portfolio, especially in regions where price-sensitive buyers dominate demand.
If the August 2026 launch schedule holds, the new handsets could help Samsung attract consumers looking for a strong balance between cost and features.
