Saudi Arabia and UAE Threaten Military Action Against Iran Following Missile Strikes

Саудівська Аравія та ОАЕ попереджають про можливість військових дій проти Ірану у відповідь на ракетні удари.

Joint Statement from Saudi Arabia and the UAE

Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have formally declared their readiness to use military force in response to Iranian aggression, which was demonstrated through a series of missile attacks on territories within the Gulf region. This stance follows recent bombardments, including ballistic strikes targeting a U.S. Naval Forces facility in Bahrain. The long-standing rivalry between Iran and the Gulf Arab states, often seen as a proxy for broader regional influence, appears to be entering a more dangerous phase.

Saudi Arabia affirmed its solidarity with regional nations, specifically naming:

  • The UAE
  • Bahrain
  • Qatar
  • Kuwait
  • Jordan

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned Iranian aggression, emphasizing a "blatant violation of sovereignty" against these states.

"The Kingdom affirms its full solidarity and unwavering support for the brotherly countries, as well as its readiness to place all its capabilities at their disposal to support any measures they may take," stated the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Conflict Escalation

Iran carried out a ballistic missile strike on a logistical facility serving as a support center for the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet in the Persian Gulf. These attacks also resulted in civilian injuries in northern Israel, where medical services are currently aiding dozens of casualties. In reaction to the heightened tensions, Qatar, Kuwait, and the UAE closed their airspace to civilian flights, causing widespread delays and cancellations.

Authorities in Abu Dhabi also reported intercepting Iranian missiles and subsequent explosions, providing further evidence of the conflict's escalation. The rapid increase in regional instability is causing significant concern within the international community, which is monitoring events with apprehension.

This development underscores the intensifying friction between Iran and the Arab Gulf states, which could have serious implications for regional security. Military action in such a sensitive area as the Persian Gulf risks a wider conflict and could disrupt global oil markets. The international community, including the United States, must closely watch the situation's progression and seek pathways to de-escalate the tension.
