Ukrainian SBU Strikes Black Sea Fleet Base and Belbek Airfield in Crimea, Damaging Ships and a MiG-31

СБУ завдала удару по військовим об'єктам чорноморського флоту та аеродрому в Криму, знищивши техніку та літаки противника.

Operation by SBU Alpha Special Operations Center Fighters

Operatives from the SBU's Alpha Special Operations Center launched drone strikes against Russia's Black Sea Fleet naval base in Sevastopol and the Belbek military airfield in occupied Crimea. These attacks hit several critical targets, including:

  • two large landing ships;
  • a reconnaissance vessel;
  • a MiG-31 fighter jet;
  • components of an air defense system.

Damaged Assets Identified

Among the assets struck were:

  • the Russian Navy's large landing ship Yamal;
  • the Russian Navy's large landing ship Filchenkov;
  • the reconnaissance ship Ivan Khurs;
  • the Russian Black Sea Fleet training center Lukomka;
  • the air defense forces' radio-technical intelligence headquarters;
  • an MR-10M1 Mys-M1 radar station.

At Belbek airfield, the attack damaged a MiG-31 aircraft and the airfield's maintenance and operations section.

This operation is not an isolated incident. On April 18, Alpha fighters carried out a previous attack in occupied Crimea, hitting three Russian military ships. The exact extent of the damage is still being assessed as of this publication.

"Every such operation follows a clear logic: we are methodically destroying key elements of the enemy's military infrastructure—its navy, aviation, reconnaissance, and air defense. This causes not only direct equipment losses but also undermines the enemy's ability to control territory, protect its forces, and plan new attacks. This work will continue until Russia ends its aggression against our country."

Yevheniy Khmara, representative of the Special Operations Center

This operation highlights Ukraine's growing capability to conduct special operations against Russian forces in Crimea. Strikes on key military assets can significantly degrade the enemy's operational effectiveness, especially its ability to conduct military activities in the region. The continued execution of such missions reflects Ukraine's strategy to systematically weaken Russia's military infrastructure and bolster its own defense efforts amid the ongoing conflict.

In a related development, Ukrainian special forces recently targeted three Russian warships in Crimea, further demonstrating the strategic offensive capabilities of Ukraine's military. These coordinated strikes not only illustrate the ongoing conflict dynamics but also emphasize the systematic approach being taken to dismantle Russian naval power.
