Interrogation of Russian Soldier Sergei Skobelev
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has published a video interrogation of Russian serviceman Sergei Skobelev. Details of the Alleged Crime
According to the information, Skobelev, together with a fellow serviceman, carried out the execution of the nine Ukrainian POWs during combat operations in Kursk Oblast. In October 2024, he was serving in the Russian Pacific Fleet's 155th Separate Marine Brigade as a commander of an assault group. After Russian forces captured the nine Ukrainian defenders, they were forced to undress and lie on the ground. Upon his commander's order, Skobelev and his accomplice opened fire on all the captured personnel.
Following the killing of the prisoners, the Russian assault group collected the mobile phones and radios of the deceased. One week after these events, Sergei Skobelev was himself captured by Ukraine's Defense Forces. He initially denied any involvement in the killings, but the evidence gathered compelled him to confess.
