Ukraine’s SBU Strikes Black Sea Fleet Base in Crimea: Ships, MiG-31, and Air Defense Systems Hit

Удар по базі Чорноморського флоту в Криму: знищено судна, МіГ-31 та системи ППО.

SBU Special Operation in Sevastopol

Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) carried out a successful special operation targeting the Russian Black Sea Fleet’s naval base in Sevastopol and the Belbek military airfield. The operation, conducted by the elite Alpha unit, struck multiple critical pieces of enemy military infrastructure.

Targets Destroyed

  • Large Russian Navy landing ships, including the Yamal and Filchenkov;
  • The Ivan Khurs intelligence-gathering vessel;
  • The Russian Black Sea Fleet’s Lukomka training center;
  • The headquarters of the air defense force’s radio-technical intelligence unit;
  • An MR-10M1 Mis-M1 radar station;
  • A MiG-31 fighter jet at Belbek airfield;
  • The airfield’s maintenance and operations facility.
Yevhen Khmara, an SBU representative, stated: 'Every such operation follows a clear logic: we are methodically destroying key elements of the enemy’s military infrastructure—its navy, aviation, intelligence, and air defense. This is not just about direct equipment losses; it also undermines the enemy’s ability to control space, protect its forces, and plan new attacks. This work will continue until Russia ceases its aggression against our country.'

This operation highlights Ukraine’s ongoing efforts to counter Russian aggression and demonstrates a strategic approach to dismantling the adversary’s military capabilities.

The SBU’s special operation signals an escalation in Ukrainian military actions in response to Russian aggression. By taking out key military infrastructure, Ukraine not only reduces the enemy’s combat potential but also strengthens its own defensive posture. Such strikes could significantly influence the conflict’s trajectory and the strategic calculations of both sides moving forward.

As the SBU intensifies its operations against Russian military assets, another recent strike highlights the ongoing conflict in the region. In a separate incident, the Ukrainian security forces targeted the Black Sea Fleet base and Belbek airfield, causing significant damage to naval vessels and an aircraft.
