Ukrainian Forces Target Military and Oil Infrastructure in Novorossiysk Port

Українські війська завдають ударів по військовим об'єктам та нафтогосподарствам у порту Новоросійськ.

Strike on Novorossiysk Port

According to reports from 'Hlavkom' citing its own sources within the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), a coordinated drone operation by the SBU's 'Alpha' Special Operations Center and other Ukrainian Defense Forces components has successfully struck military and oil facilities at the port of Novorossiysk. The attack resulted in a major fire, indicating significant damage was inflicted. This operation is part of Ukraine's ongoing strategy to degrade Russian military and economic capabilities far from the front lines.

Targets Hit

Preliminary information indicates the SBU drones struck the following:

  • Military vessels;
  • A 30N6E2 engagement radar for the S-300 PMU-2 'Favorit' air defense system;
  • A 'Pantsir-S2' anti-aircraft missile and gun system;
  • Six out of seven oil loading berths at the 'Sheskharis' oil terminal.

The 'Sheskharis' terminal is one of the largest oil transshipment complexes for crude oil and petroleum products in southern Russia.

The SBU continues its systematic work to weaken the enemy's military, financial, and logistical potential. Each such special operation directly impacts the Russians' ability to conduct combat operations and receive oil and gas revenues for their budget. The season of spring 'cotton' has begun.

The strike on Novorossiysk port is part of Ukraine's broader campaign to reduce Russia's military potential and constrain its financial resources. Given that 'Sheskharis' is a key terminal for oil exports, damaging it could significantly impact Russia's economic capabilities amid the ongoing war. This incident also demonstrates the growing ability of Ukrainian forces to conduct precise and effective long-range strikes deep into Russian territory, a capability that continues to shape the conflict's dynamics.
