The Security Service of Ukraine successfully struck two Russian planes at the Belbek airfield in Crimea using drones from the 'Alpha' Special Operations Center. One plane was ready for combat takeoff but was destroyed. The control tower was also damaged, which may complicate flight organization at the airfield. It was noted that the cost of both planes is approximately 70 million US dollars.
This incident marks the second successful attack by the SBU at the Belbek airfield. Already on December 18 of last year, drones damaged Russian equipment worth hundreds of millions of dollars. Among the destroyed equipment were radars, the S-400 missile systems, the Pantsir-S2 system, and a MiG-31 with ammunition.
Recently, attacks were also carried out on a Russian military ship in the Caspian Sea and on facilities in Russia that caused a fire. These events indicate the activity of the Ukrainian military in defensive operations.
