The law enforcement agencies of the Chernivtsi region detained a priest of the UOC (MP) who had organized a channel for the illegal transportation of conscripted men abroad. This case is part of efforts to counter Ukrainian representatives of the UOC (MP) who are suspected of committing treason, glorifying aggression, and providing assistance.
During the investigation, it became known that the priest involved a local resident of the Chernivtsi district who acted as an accomplice. They promised to transport two conscripted men for €13,000 per person across the Ukrainian-Romanian border. The organizers were detained while receiving €26,000 in Chernivtsi.
Both individuals have been notified of suspicion of illegal transportation of persons across the border, and the court decided to keep them in custody with the possibility of posting bail.
It has been reported that the priest of the UOC (MP) was detained for attempting to organize the illegal transportation of conscripted men across the border, which is traced in the context of countering representatives of the church who are facilitating aggression and treason.
