SBU Strikes Russian Research Facility

Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) has targeted a Russian research plant in the Tver region, a facility that manufactures components for rocket fuel. The attack, carried out by drones from the SBU's Alpha Special Operations Center, triggered a major fire at the site located in the settlement of Redkino. This operation is part of Ukraine's ongoing efforts to degrade Russia's military-industrial capacity.

Plant's Critical Role in Russia's War Effort

The Redkino research plant is known for producing decilin-M rocket fuel components for Kh-55 and Kh-101 missiles, as well as fuel additives for diesel and aviation kerosene. The facility is currently under sanctions from the United States, the United Kingdom, and several other nations. According to an SBU source, the targeted plant is a crucial link in the supply chain for the cruise missiles Russia uses to attack Ukraine. Even a temporary halt in its operations complicates the production of rocket fuel, thereby reducing the enemy's ability to sustain intense bombardments of Ukrainian cities.

The attack occurred on the night of February 7, with NASA's FIRMS service detecting active burning at the enterprise. This strike underscores the strategic importance of disrupting production sites that provide the Russian military with essential resources for its war effort.

Degrading the production capabilities of such plants could significantly impact Russia's ability to conduct military operations, particularly by reducing the supply of rocket fuel. This action may also form part of a broader Ukrainian campaign aimed at weakening the aggressor's military power.
