Attack on the Ukhta Oil Refinery
On February 12, Ukrainian defense forces carried out a drone strike against the Ukhta oil refinery in the Komi Republic. The drone traveled approximately 1,750 kilometers to reach its target, setting a new distance record for such operations. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) was responsible for executing the mission.
The Ukhta refinery, part of the Lukoil company, processes around 4.2 million tons of oil annually. Its primary outputs include:
- Gasoline
- Diesel fuel
- Fuel oil
Preliminary reports indicate the strike caused a fire in the facility's atmospheric vacuum distillation (AVT) and visbreaking units.
