SBU detains 16-year-old FSB agent: she was preparing an attack on the CHP in Kropyvnytskyi

Служба безпеки України затримала 16-річну агента ФСБ, яка планувала терористичний акт на теплоелектростанції в Кропивницькому.

Detention of a 16-year-old resident of Kropyvnytskyi

The Security Service of Ukraine detained a 16-year-old resident of Kropyvnytskyi for preparing a missile strike on a local thermal power plant (TPP) on behalf of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB). The detention took place at night near the TPP fence, where the young agent planned to execute her task.

According to information, the accused received instructions to install a GPS tracker on the TPP premises. To carry out this task, she received money for purchasing the tracker from Russia on her bank card. The girl ordered the device from an online store and picked it up at the post office, which was part of her plan.

Legal consequences and threats

Investigators of the SBU have already informed her of suspicion under part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, concerning treason committed in conditions of martial law. The penalty for this crime includes life imprisonment with confiscation of property. The counterintelligence of the SBU continues the investigation of the case, as the detainee is a minor agent of Russian special services, seeking executors for contract terrorist acts in Ukraine.

This case highlights the seriousness of the threats posed by the activities of foreign special services in Ukraine, especially amid the ongoing conflict. The use of youth for performing dangerous tasks indicates strategic changes in warfare methods, where new technologies like GPS trackers become tools in the hands of the enemy. The situation also raises concerns about safety and the influence of propaganda on youth in Ukraine.
