Detention of people's deputy Fedor Khristenko


The Security Service of Ukraine detained people's deputy of the ninth convocation from the 'OPZZh' party Fedor Khristenko. He has been charged with high treason. According to the investigation, the politician was recruited by the FSB of Russia and was performing tasks to strengthen Moscow's influence in Ukrainian state institutions.



Short biography of Khristenko


Fedor Khristenko was born in 1983 in the village of Starohnatovka in Donetsk region. He graduated from Donetsk National University and later worked in the field of passenger transport. He entered politics in 2014 and was elected to the Verkhovna Rada in 2019 on behalf of the 'OPZZh' party.



Khristenko's parliamentary activity was minimal, and only a small number of bills were associated with his name. In 2025, the SBU raised charges of high treason and abuse of influence, with the accusations likely linked to cooperation with Russian special services.
