Ukrainian Security Service Apprehends Five Pro-Kremlin Propagandists Across Multiple Regions

Служба безпеки України затримала п’ятьох прихильників кремлівської пропаганди в різних областях країни.

Ukrainian Security Service Cracks Down on Pro-Kremlin Propagandists

Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) has detained five individuals in Kharkiv, Zakarpattia, and Kherson for conducting information-subversion activities on behalf of the Russian Federation. The detainees publicly justified Russia's war crimes and called for violence against Ukrainians. All five have been formally notified of suspicion under multiple articles of Ukraine's Criminal Code.

Details of the Apprehensions

In Kharkiv, authorities detained an assistant train driver employed by a local branch of Ukrzaliznytsia, the national railway. On Telegram channels, this individual urged Russian occupiers to kill Ukrainians and justified Russian atrocities in Bucha and Irpin. In Zakarpattia's Uzhhorod district, two local women were apprehended for glorifying Vladimir Putin and Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, using their personal TikTok and Facebook pages to spread propaganda.

  • A 46-year-old draft evader from Berehove was exposed in the border region for posting anti-Ukrainian content on TikTok, questioning the country's state sovereignty and territorial integrity.
  • In Kherson, a 35-year-old local parking lot security guard was detained for using Telegram channels to call for the seizure of the regional center.

Linguistic analysis initiated by the SBU confirmed the information-subversion activities of all suspects in favor of Russia. The detainees face up to 8 years in prison with confiscation of property.

In a separate but related operation, the SBU reported the detention of a Russian agent in Ivano-Frankivsk. The agent was identified as a 17-year-old graduate of a local technical college who had been recruited by Russian operatives. Her assigned task was to prepare a new series of missile strikes targeting the energy infrastructure of the Carpathian region.

These arrests underscore the intensified efforts of Ukrainian law enforcement to counter information threats that undermine national security and public order.

These operations occur against the backdrop of the ongoing war, highlighting the critical need for internal stability and vigilance. The SBU's actions demonstrate a continuous focus on neutralizing internal threats that seek to destabilize Ukraine from within.
