SBU, jointly with the Office of the Attorney General, has detained a NABU employee who is spying in favor of the Russian FSB. The detainee worked in the most secret unit of NABU 'D-2' and was passing secret information to the enemy's special service, which was coordinated by a traitor agent Dmitry Ivanцов - a former deputy head of protection for the fugitive president Viktor Yanukovych.
Ivanцov remained in temporarily occupied Crimea after Yanukovych's escape, joined the occupiers, and became the curator of an agent network that penetrated Ukrainian power structures.
The investigation established at least 60 cases of secret information transfer from the NABU employee to the Russian curator. This agent collected data on Ukrainian law enforcement and citizens for planning terrorist acts and other special operations. The risks associated with his activities were known to NABU management, but they did not take any measures to eliminate them.
The basis for the detention was the employee's refusal to stop spying and destroy evidence of his activities. Detecting and terminating the activities of such agents is extremely important for ensuring the national security of Ukraine.
