Strike on the Russian submarine

On the night of December 14-15, 2025, Ukrainian forces struck the Russian submarine of project 636 'Varshavyanka' in Novorossiysk with a drone underwater vehicle. The target of the operation was the submarine B-271 'Kolpino', which was at the naval base in Novorossiysk at the time of the attack.

On December 15, the Security Service of Ukraine released a video of the explosion that occurred near the submarine. As of December 18, 2025, the damaged submarine remained moored in the port, indicating its damage. In response to the strike, Russian ships spread out from the base in Novorossiysk, trying to reduce the risk of further attacks.

Military actions in the Black Sea region

This event demonstrates the continuation of active military actions in the Black Sea region, where both sides are striving to strengthen their positions. The operation also highlights the importance of drone technologies in modern military conflicts, as Ukraine continues to seek new ways to counter Russian forces.

Russia's reaction is also significant, as it takes measures to ensure the safety of its naval forces in response to threats from Ukraine.
