Today, August 17, the world celebrates Second-Hand Day, which promotes sustainability and thriftiness. However, along with the positives of buying used clothes, unforeseen situations can arise. For example, a woman from the Vinnytsia region needed medical assistance after being bitten by an insect while trying on pants in the store.

The woman reported being bitten by a large insect. An infectious disease doctor suspected it might have been a 'kissing bug.'

It later turned out that it was a harmless seed bug, which, although poses a threat to people, can deliver quite painful bites.

Important tips for buyers

Experts recommend:

  • Carefully wash and iron clothes before use.

  • Thoroughly check items for insects, especially in the seams.

  • In case of a bite from an unknown insect, seek medical attention and keep the insect for further analysis.

Additionally, another unpleasant incident occurred in the Vinnytsia region when a man attacked a beauty salon administrator over a dispute about the price of a haircut. This again emphasizes the importance of patience and mutual respect in public communication.

The examples mentioned in the news demonstrate that it is necessary to be attentive and cautious, regardless of where we are, as well as to regularly check clothes and learn to manage emotions in large complex situations.
