In the new episode of the joint show, Masha Efrosynina and Olya Polyakova candidly discussed the sex of the 'ideal girl', family pressure, fear of unwanted pregnancy, and the complete absence of sexual education in a generation that grew up 'between grandmothers and TikTok'.

Taboos, Shame, and the Absence of Conversations about Sex

The hosts recalled that in their childhood, sex before marriage was considered shameful, and phrases like 'just don't bring it home, or I'll kick you out' were the norm. A woman who began her sexual life supposedly automatically 'shamed the family' or was expected to become pregnant.

Efrosynina shared that due to fear and lack of knowledge, many women of their generation underwent numerous abortions even before giving birth to their first child. She recalled her own story when, at 17, she was afraid of getting pregnant even from oral sex and only then heard basic information about condoms and contraception from her mother.

Among the main narratives of the past, according to the hosts:

  • sex 'only after marriage' or 'it's time, all my friends are married'
  • complete absence of discussions in the family about contraception and protection
  • imposed shame for any girl's sexuality.

The Sex of the Ideal Girl: New Rules, Libido, and Self-Worth

Polyakova insists that young girls should not rush into sex if they want serious relationships: in her opinion, 'you need to keep the man a bit at bay' so he is ready to act and not just talk. She also mentioned the difference in libido: young men have a higher libido, while women's peak sexual desire occurs at ages 36-40, when nature 'presses' the chance for pregnancy.

Efrosynina partially disagrees with this approach. She is against women playing the role of 'unattainable', but advocates for conscious choice: if sex happens on the first night, the girl should clearly discuss the boundaries, insist on protection, and not do everything 'for his sake'. Both hosts agree on one thing: today, young women have much more information, but the responsibility for their own bodies and decisions still lies with them.

Earlier, we wrote that Olya Polyakova set an ultimatum to Suspilne regarding the National Selection for Eurovision.
