The Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine, along with the Embassy of the United Kingdom and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), held a meeting of the Sectoral Working Group on Social Protection. Representatives of international organizations, the government, and civil society were present at the event, discussing support programs, reforms, and priorities for the upcoming year.
Minister Denys Uliutin presented the updated structure of the Ministry and outlined the main tasks for the future. He emphasized the importance of international programs complementing state tools rather than duplicating them.
“Coordination and honest synchronization of efforts are key components in building a sustainable social protection system. I thank our partners for the open dialogue and support,” the minister emphasized.
The representative of UNICEF in Ukraine, Munir Mamedzade, noted that the priorities outlined by the Ukrainian side coincide with the views of donors. This includes assistance to families, support for people with disabilities, development of local services, and other important aspects.
As a result of the meeting, plans for cooperation for the next year were agreed upon, including updating the work of the Sectoral Group, actions of thematic subgroups, and the development of a knowledge base. The next meeting is scheduled for February 2026. The Ministry will continue to work with partners to improve the country's social system and make it more accessible to citizens where it is most needed.
Participants of the Sectoral Working Group on Social Protection in Ukraine agreed on common priorities for 2026 and plans for further cooperation to improve the social protection system in the country. Key areas of work remain assistance to families, support for people with disabilities, development of services at the local level, and other social initiatives.
