Attacks on Ukrainian cities during Christmas

US Senators condemned Russia's attacks on Ukrainian cities during Christmas, noting that this is a sign of escalating aggression from the Kremlin. On Christmas Day, December 25, Russian invaders carried out a series of attacks on Ukrainian territories, including the central part of Kherson, where the city market was hit. Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, commented on this incident, emphasizing the cynicism of the occupiers:

“In broad daylight, the occupiers cynically struck the market where people were preparing for the holiday.” - Oleksandr Prokudin

Moreover, in Chernihiv, an enemy drone struck a residential building, resulting in one person's death. This attack also caused significant damage:

  • As a result of the strike, a five-story residential building was damaged;
  • Nearby apartment buildings and cars were affected;
  • Instances of injuries among residents were recorded.

On the night of December 25, Russian terrorists hit the production facility of sunflower oil company Kernel, leading to damage to oil containers and a fire. These events underline the escalation of the conflict and the ongoing aggression from Russia, disregarding the festive days and human losses.

Continuity of military actions in Ukraine

The attacks that took place in Ukraine during the Christmas holidays demonstrate the continuity of military actions by Russia, despite international calls for peace and humanitarian compassion. This also leads to new statements from international organizations and countries expressing their support for Ukraine amidst ongoing aggression. The situation in Ukraine remains tense, and the events of Christmas may contribute to further mobilization of the international community to respond to human rights violations and war crimes.
