Kyiv maintains the highest salaries among the regions of Ukraine, however, the figures in job vacancies significantly differ from the expectations of candidates. In August, the median offer from employers reached 36,174 UAH, while job seekers indicate 31,010 UAH in their resumes. This is reported by Delo.ua citing data from robota.ua.
Salaries in Kyiv: Vacancies offer 5 thousand more UAH
The gap between the median salary in job vacancies and resumes amounts to 5,164 UAH. The data is based on 112,681 job offers and over 245 thousand resumes in Kyiv.
It concerns the median figure, not the arithmetic mean. This means half of the vacancies offer a lower amount, while the other half offers a higher one. High-paying positions in IT, finance, and management pull up the level of offers, however, mass professions in trade and services are paid more modestly.
If the salary of 36,174 UAH is stated before taxation, after paying 18% personal income tax and 5% military tax, the employee will receive about 27.9 thousand UAH. The actual amount depends on the conditions of employment and the specific vacancy.
