Meet Savi Security: A New App to Fight Fraud

On July 8 at 2:00 PM, the U.S.-based startup Savi Security launched a new application that leverages artificial intelligence to combat fraud. The app scans text messages, emails, voicemails, and phone calls, helping users spot potential scams. The idea was born after brothers Patrick and Ryan Coughlin’s mother was targeted by fraudsters demanding $1,200. Both brothers bring deep expertise in cybersecurity and tech, which enabled them to build this innovative service.

A standout feature of the app is its ability to analyze phone conversations in real time, significantly boosting user protection. A subscription costs $8 per month or $63 per year, and a single account covers the entire family with no limit on the number of users. This makes it an accessible solution for households looking to strengthen their digital defenses.

Rising Fraud Rates Drive Demand for New Tools

Fraud is on the rise globally. In 2025 alone, Americans lost $3.5 billion to impersonation scams, according to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission. That figure is triple the losses reported in 2020, with seniors and Gen Z members being the most frequent victims. These groups often fall prey to increasingly sophisticated schemes.

The Savi Security team also launched a free service called Scamwise, which received around 100,000 inquiries in just four months. This surge highlights the growing need for effective anti-fraud tools in today’s digital landscape.

The launch of Savi Security underscores the urgency of addressing fraud in a world where technology evolves rapidly. By using AI to detect malicious activity, the app could become a critical safeguard, especially for vulnerable groups like the elderly and young people. With financial losses from scams continuing to climb, this new service may prove essential in keeping users safe online.

As the threat of fraud continues to escalate, innovative solutions like the Savi Security app are essential for protecting individuals and families. This urgency is underscored by recent events in the cybersecurity landscape, where an AI agent autonomously launched ransomware, highlighting the sophistication of modern digital threats. Staying informed about these developments is crucial for safeguarding your online presence.
