Fundraising Campaign Launched to Support the Ukrainian People
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has launched an urgent global fundraising appeal to help the nation's citizens endure the harsh winter and ongoing Russian attacks. He stressed that international assistance is critically needed to provide Ukrainians with power and essential equipment. This appeal comes as Russia's systematic targeting of energy infrastructure has created a severe humanitarian crisis during the coldest months.
Addressing the world's concerned citizens, Ukraine's allies, civil society, politicians, and media, Andrii Sybiha emphasized the importance of solidarity.
“I urge everyone to respond to this call,” stated Andrii Sybiha.Donated funds will be allocated to purchase generators, electricity, fuel, and all forms of energy required by vulnerable communities.
International Community Mobilizes Support
As part of the 'Warmth for Kyiv' initiative, Poland has already raised over 40 million hryvnias, with contributions from 24,000 donors. Several other nations are also providing direct support to Ukraine's energy sector, including:
- Norway
- The United Kingdom
- Germany
- Italy
- Austria
Andrii Sybiha expressed gratitude to all donors worldwide for their solidarity with the Ukrainian people during this difficult period.
This initiative underscores the vital need for sustained international backing as Ukraine faces escalating threats to its energy security, particularly in winter. The fundraising drive and the participation of multiple countries demonstrate active global solidarity and the necessity of collective action to overcome this crisis.
