The USA Reveals Details of Security Guarantees for Ukraine: What the Pentagon Proposes

Ukraine is considering practical alternatives to NATO's collective defense mechanism in the context of providing security guarantees. According to discussions, it is possible to create a model where the response to Russian aggression will be ensured by coalition capabilities rather than automatic invocation of Article 5.

Former Lieutenant General of the US Air Force Richard Newton proposed a number of tools to ensure security, including strengthening Ukrainian air defense and fighter aviation. He also emphasized the importance of expanding the supply of precision weapons in favor of Ukraine.

Furthermore, Newton expressed support for increasing the volume of intelligence information provided to Ukraine by the United States, as well as stressing the significance of offensive cyber operations as a means of deterring Russia. He emphasized that resistance in cyberspace could deprive the Kremlin of impunity.
