Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces Hit Crimea’s Power Grid 38 Times in Six Days

Безпілотні системи України вразили енергетичну інфраструктуру Криму за шість днів 38 разів.

Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces Operations in July

In the first six days of July, Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces (USF) carried out 38 strikes against the energy infrastructure of occupied Crimea and southern territories. The week culminated in a nighttime attack on July 6, targeting the 330 kV Simferopol substation. The strike caused a blackout acknowledged by occupation authorities on the southern coast of Crimea and in Simferopol.

Between July 1 and July 5, USF drones disabled 37 power hubs across Crimea and the south. The 38th strike, which occurred on the night of July 6, marked the end of a series of attacks that significantly impacted the region’s energy situation. The operation was conducted by units including:

  • 1st Separate Center of the USF
  • 9th Kairos Battalion
  • 414th Brigade "Madar’s Birds"
  • 412th Brigade Nemesis
  • Phoenix Unit

Additional Strikes and Consequences

That same night, USF drones set fire to two gasoline tankers in the Sea of Azov and an oil depot in Kerch. USF Commander Robert "Madar" Brovdi reported these strikes on Telegram, stating that the series of attacks is only gaining momentum. He warned the occupiers that

“retribution will be long and painful”
and assured that
“we will stand. Moscow will fall. We will feed and rebuild Crimea.”

Further details on the attacks against the tankers and oil depot are expected, with Brovdi promising to release them later. Earlier reports indicated that over two days, USF drones knocked out 16 power hubs in the south and began isolating Crimea.

These actions by the Unmanned Systems Forces demonstrate Ukraine’s continued active operations aimed at destabilizing the occupation authority in Crimea and reducing its military capabilities. Strikes on energy infrastructure and logistics hubs can significantly affect the supply of occupied territories, putting additional pressure on Russian troops and administration in the region.

The recent operations by Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces highlight a broader strategy to undermine Russian control in occupied territories. As the situation evolves, further insights into the overnight drone strikes that targeted multiple locations in Crimea are available. These developments illustrate the ongoing intensity of Ukraine's military efforts and their implications for the region's stability.
