Ukraine's Drone Forces Adopt NATO's Digital Logistics System

Безпілотники України впроваджують новітні технології НАТО для оптимізації забезпечення.

Digitizing Military Asset Management

The Unmanned Systems Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have officially transitioned to a fully digital system for tracking equipment and communications gear. This new logistics management system enables the cataloging of over 3,500 distinct military items without using paper. All data on drones, communications equipment, and other hardware is now consolidated into a single digital environment. This move is part of a broader effort to modernize Ukraine's military infrastructure in line with its strategic goals.

The logistics management system, known as ULS, is built on the SAP platform. This is a data-driven defense resource management software used by over 90% of NATO member armies. Ukraine's Ministry of Defense, in collaboration with the Unmanned Systems Forces Command, has scaled this system, marking a significant step in modernizing military equipment tracking and ensuring its efficient deployment.

Benefits of Digital Tracking

This shift to digital accounting represents a crucial stage in the development of the unmanned systems forces, which in turn enhances the speed and accuracy of resource management. Given contemporary challenges, such innovation is vital for improving the operational effectiveness of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The digitization of military asset management in Ukraine facilitates integration with modern defense resource management standards already employed by NATO countries. This will not only streamline planning and management processes but also holds the potential to improve the provisioning of military units in real combat conditions. Innovations like these could form the foundation for the further modernization of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, particularly within the context of active defense and adaptation to new threats.
