Defense Forces attacked a submarine and gas plant: details of the night operation

Військові сили здійснили удар по підводному човну та газовому заводові: подробиці нічної операції.

Operations of the Defense Forces of Ukraine

On the night of December 15, the Defense Forces of Ukraine conducted operations against Russian targets, including an attack on a submarine and a gas processing plant. The operation took place in the port of Novorossiysk, where Ukrainian forces attacked the Russian submarine of the 636.3 'Varshavyanka' class. Underwater drones 'Sub Sea Baby' were used to carry out the operation, which detonated the submarine that housed four launch systems for Kalibr cruise missiles.

The cost of the submarine is approximately 400 million US dollars, and building a new submarine could cost up to 500 million dollars. In addition to the submarine attack, the Defense Forces also struck the Astrakhan gas processing plant, which produces up to 3.5 million tons of sulfur annually. Explosions and fires have been recorded on the plant's premises, indicating serious consequences of the operations.

Impact on military and economic aspects

These actions of the Defense Forces of Ukraine underscore the continuation of active hostilities in the region and an attempt to destroy key military objects of the enemy.

This operation demonstrates Ukraine's growing capabilities in conducting modern warfare, particularly the use of underwater drones to achieve strategic goals.

The attack on important military and industrial facilities in Russia can significantly affect their ability to conduct military operations, as well as the economic situation in the region. Such actions may indicate a new stage in the conflict where technologies play a key role in achieving military objectives.
