Focused Strikes on Enemy Operational Rear
Throughout August 2026, Ukrainian Defense Forces intensified their strategic campaign aimed at crippling the enemy’s operational support and military-economic infrastructure through precision middle-range strikes. These efforts successfully eliminated critical air defense systems, bridges, supply depots, and command posts located within Russian territory and temporarily occupied regions.
Destroyed Equipment and Infrastructure
Specifically, the following were neutralized:
- Seventeen air defense vehicles, including:
- S-400 Triumph missile system positions in Gelendzhik and the Bryansk region
- Pantsir missile system in Yeysk
- Tor missile system in the Rostov region
- Buk-M3 missile system in Luhansk region
- Strela-10 missile system in Kreminna
- Long-range Nebo-U radar station in Sevastopol
- Nebo-SV radar along with Kasta and Podlyot radar stations
- Electronic warfare complexes, notably the Peresvet-M in Luhansk
Operations also resulted in the destruction of six bridges, including railway bridges over the Syvash near Chonhar, close to Vladyslavivka, and near Svitlodolynske. Additionally, highway bridges spanning the Seym River in Kursk region and the Molochna River in Zaporizhzhia were damaged, as was the crossing over the Mokri Yaly River in Donetsk region. More than twenty warehouses storing supplies and ammunition, as well as repair bases in temporarily occupied territories and adjacent Russian border areas, suffered significant damage.
Over thirty enemy command posts were eliminated or struck, with key attacks targeting control centers, storage facilities, and launch sites for strike UAVs in Bryansk, Donetsk, and Crimea. Several ground relay stations controlling Geran/Herber-type strike drones were disabled. As a result, command hubs of Russian forces in Donetsk city, an FSB unit in Shchaslyvtseve, and a UAV training center in Luhansk were significantly impacted.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense emphasized, "Each radar system, air defense unit, and electronic warfare complex taken out opens the door for deeper strikes into enemy territory. Destroyed bridges complicate logistics, while damaged warehouses and command points diminish the combat readiness of hostile units."
This ongoing campaign highlights Ukraine’s commitment to systematically degrade the adversary’s military capabilities. Striking vital infrastructure not only disrupts Russian forces’ supply chains but also weakens their overall operational effectiveness. Notably, eliminating air defense and radar assets enables Ukrainian troops to conduct more effective offensive operations, potentially shifting the balance of power in the region’s conflict.
